Since our first Chamber Music Camp in 2003, we have concentrated our efforts on
offering a unique chamber music program, which provides high level instruction in
small groups taught by professional musicians and internationally recognized guest
ensembles.
In the summer of 2010, the OPUS Chamber Music Camp will mark its 8th year. What
began as a program for string players has gradually expanded to include piano and
clarinet students, chamber orchestra, and a handbell choir. We are pleased to announce
the introduction of flutes to our ensemble program at the 2010 OPUS Chamber Music
Camp.
In addition to the Chamber Music Camp, OPUS has organized, sponsored, underwritten
the costs, and successfully executed numerous projects and programs every year since
its inception in 2000. Past events and programs include:
- Support for the local junior high and high school music programs
- OPUS provides accompanists for special concerts
- We organize and sponsor a chamber music workshop with the acclaimed
Orion Ensemble
- Performances at the Edward Hospital and Edward Cancer Treatment Center
- Peformances at senior homes: Monarch Landing, Independence Village, and St. Patrick's
Senior Residence
- Free performances at local churches: Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Knox Presbyterian
